Nob Hill

This Nob Hill condominium has spectacular city views.  The client asked for a traditional kitchen with contemporary conveniences where the views could be enjoyed from the kitchen, too.  This meant that whatever was on the countertops would be seen from the adjacent public rooms.

The solution was a custom appliance lift.  The unit would keep countertop clutter to a minimum by sequestering small appliances in a concealed, but easy-to-access space.  Placed on the peninsula and behind the induction cooktop, the unit rises hidden from the countertop.  Appliances and accessories are easily pulled forward or to the side for use, and upon completion, returned to the lift and lowered flush to the countertop with the appliances hidden below.

The luxury kitchen features furniture-grade, custom cabinetry.  Richly, stained cherry cabinets are used in both the galley and the butler’s pantry.  Wall cabinets facing the dining room are painted maple with a custom mullion detail.  The kitchen’s well-appointed appliance package includes a Gaggenau induction cooktop, an Elica ‘Twin’ self-ventilating hood, Miele’s combi-steam oven, speed oven and warming drawers.  The countertops are honed ‘White Rhino’ marble with an eased edge.  A drain board, beautifully fabricated into the stone countertop, is to the right of the sink.
