Inspired Urban Loft
Originally an empty warehouse in San Francisco’s SOMA district, the loft’s industrial kitchen design is part of an inspired urban residence.
The selection of Shaker-style cabinets throw an unexpected curve with its traditional door/drawer ensemble in stained wood, but the abundance and quality of stainless steel appliances used throughout the open kitchen design maintains the loft’s commercial pedigree. A 48″ Wolf range and professional-style hood provides six burners, a grill and two ovens. An additional Miele speed oven and a Miele coffee center are housed to the right of the range in one of the kitchen’s furniture-grade cabinets. The island serves as the refreshment center with a Perlick wine unit, Perlick beverage center and an ice maker. Directly across the island is a 36″ Sub-Zero, the household’s primary refrigerator. An apron-front, porcelain sink sits under a counter of honed, ‘Callacota Caldia’ marble with a simple mitered edge. The marble is repeated in the kitchen’s backsplash, but as a brick pattern.
The custom breakfast banquet and wall are clad in Stikwood, a reclaimed, weathered wood plank product. Floors throughout the loft are pigmented, polished concrete.
